A REPORT BY KIMLEY-HORN AND ASSOCIATES TO THE CITY COMMISSION REGARDING THE DRAFT FINDINGS OF THE CITY’S TRANSIT MASTER PLAN.

BACKGROUND:
Resolution No. 2022-155 approved a work authorization with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to perform professional transportation services related to the preparation of a Transit Master Plan.
These preliminary findings provide an assessment of the City’s existing transit services, identify service gaps, develop strategies that seek to reduce transit rider wait times (headways), and review options associated with future changes in mobility needs and multimodal connectivity throughout the City. Preparation of this master plan includes coordination with outside agencies, such as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Broward County Transit (BCT), and the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO); evaluation of a City-wide transit market assessment; transit network recommendations; and a transit project implementation plan.
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., will present the draft findings of their professional transportation assessment to the Commission for feedback necessary to finalize the report and submit it to the City for planning, funding, and implementation.
