BACKGROUND:
In an effort to identify and develop a 10-year vision that aligns with the City's Vision 2030 Plan focus area, Adaptable and Progressive Mobility, and to enhance multimodal connectivity, the City of Coconut Creek is seeking to prepare a Transit Master Plan that will review and offer recommendations to improve connectivity and increase transit ridership, while reducing service gaps. Moreover, the City desires to develop a comprehensive Transit Master Plan that establishes a long-term vision for our local shuttle system where the City can optimize passenger service for Coconut Creek residents, workers, and visitors. To assist with this effort, the City requires the services from one of its professional transportation engineering consultants, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (herein after "Consultant"), to prepare a citywide Transit Master Plan.
DISCUSSION:
Services related to the Transit Master Plan include:
* Progress meetings/coordination with outside agencies (FDOT, BCT, and MPO);
* An evaluation of the City's transit operations;
* Analysis of the City's Transit Market;
* Identification of the Electric Vehicle (EV) technology fleet conversion;
* Comparison of traditional shuttle service versus mobility on demand; and
* Attendance and presentation at public meetings, including City Commission.
The Consultant is a qualified firm on the City's approved Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, and Urban Design Services list pursuant to RFQ No. 10-06-21-11, as approved by Resolution No. 2022-007.
