BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to establish a qualified pool of a maximum of ten (consultant) firms, from a wide range of Engineering disciplines to provide General Professional Engineering Services for various City projects. The scope of services shall include, but are not necessarily limited to building, codes, cost-benefit analysis, traffic and transportation, geotechnical engineering, land surveying, stormwater, reclaimed water, structural, potable water, wastewater, etc.
DISCUSSION:
The City issued a competitive solicitation in accordance with the Consultants' Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA) pursuant to Florida Statutes, Chapter 287.0555. A selection committee consisting of Brian Rosen, Project Manager for Public Works; Lizet Aguiar, Principal Planner for Sustainable Development; and Randall Blanchette, Engineering Manager for Utilities and Engineering, reviewed and evaluated forty-two (42) submittals. After an extensive evaluation process, which included review of each firm's personnel, past record, experience, area of expertise, office location, and recent, current and project workloads, the selection committee short-listed to a pool of ten (10) qualified consultants.
