BACKGROUND:
The Public Works building contains two (2) Liebert and two (2) mixed air HVAC units. The first Liebert and mixed air units were contracted for replacement in Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23). The first Leibert purchase was approved at the June 22, 2023, Commission meeting by Resolution No. 2023-111. The first mixed air unit was approved by Motion 23-158 at the August 24, 2023, Commission meeting.
The Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Operating and Capital Improvement Budget, approved by City Commission on September 28, 2023, through Ordinance No. 2023-020, included the replacement of the second mixed air and Liebert units in the Public Works Building through the HVAC Replacement Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Master Mechanical Services, Inc. was awarded an ongoing contract by the City on April 14, 2022, by Resolution No. 2022-069, as the primary vendor for as-needed HVAC services through RFP No. 02-23-22-10 for three (3) years with up to two (2) one (1) year renewal periods.
DISCUSSION:
The existing mixed air and Liebert units in the Public Works Building are aged and require significant maintenance to maintain operability. This is a replacement-in-kind project that will exchange old, existing equipment with new equipment.
Master Mechanical Services, Inc. provided a proposal in the amount of $203,832.00 for the purchase and installation of a new mixed air unit and a proposal in the amount of $153,308.00 for the purchase and installation of a new Liebert unit.
