BACKGROUND:
The Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Operating and Capital Improvement Budget, which was approved by the City of Coconut Creek City Commission on September 23, 2021, through Ordinance No. 2021-024, included the replacement of a mixed air unit at the Public Works Building through the HVAC Replacement Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Master Mechanical Services, Inc. was awarded an ongoing contract by the City on April 14, 2022, as the primary vendor for as-needed HVAC services through RFP No. 02-23-22-10 for three (3) years with up to two (2) one (1) year renewal periods.
DISCUSSION:
The existing mixed air unit and refrigerant pipes from the condenser to the entrance of the Public Works Building are aged and require significant maintenance to maintain operability. This is a replacement-in-kind project that will exchange old, existing equipment with new equipment.
Master Mechanical Services, Inc. provided a proposal in the amount of $203,832.00 for the purchase and installation of the new mixed air unit and associated refrigerant piping. The project will be completed within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days following Commission approval of this motion and issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this motion.
