A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH HEALTHY CONTRIBUTIONS, LLC TO PROVIDE FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF FITNESS MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR OPTUM FITNESS ADVANTAGE PROGRAM MEMBERS UNDER THE UNITED HEALTHCARE MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN.

body

BACKGROUND:

United Healthcare Group offers their Medicare Advantage Plan members preventative care programs through the Optum Fitness Advantage Program as an incentive to maintain a fitness routine.  The City offers free, standard fitness memberships to these participating members, which are reimbursed by the insurance company.  This program is also an easy way for the City to engage members in our fitness programs and services.

DISCUSSION:

United Healthcare Group utilizes a third party vendor, Healthy Contributions, LLC, for reporting and payment processing purposes.  In order to get reimbursed from United Healthcare for fitness membership fees, an agreement with Healthy Contributions, LLC is required.  Healthy Contributions’ online system tracks members’ visits, transfers monthly usage information, and issues reimbursement funds to the City. There are no fees or costs to the City to utilize this program.  The City would receive monthly reimbursements based on the number of eligible member visits reported through the online portal at a rate of $4.00 per visit, up to $32.00 a month per member.
