BACKGROUND:

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) offers Highway Beautification Grants for state roads to improve the appearance of medians.  The City has received funding from this grant in the past.

DISCUSSION:

This grant funding will enable the City to upgrade the State Road 7 medians from the Sawgrass Expressway to Cullum Road with improved landscaping and irrigation.  After completion, the City will be responsible for maintaining the medians; however, the City of Coral Springs has agreed to pay for half of the ongoing maintenance costs for these medians.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
