BACKGROUND:
Pursuant to the City’s Charter, a Re-Districting Board is convened every five years to review and make recommendations regarding the geographic boundaries of the City Commission Districts. As part of the process, the City hires an Urban Geographer to consult with the Re-Districting Board. The Re-Districting Board last convened in 2013. The 2018 Re-Districting Board will convene beginning in August.
DISCUSSION:
This Agreement provides for Ronald R. Schultz to act in an advisory capacity to the Re-Districting Board to provide demographic and geographic expertise in the development and preparation of geographic boundaries for City Commission Districts for the election of City Commissioners. The cost of services is $20,000, and the project will be completed within the 90-day appointment period of the Re-Districting Board pursuant to Section 908 of the City’s Charter.
