BACKGROUND:
United Healthcare Group offers their Medicare Advantage Plan members preventative care programs through the Optum Fitness Passport Program as an incentive to maintain a fitness routine. The City offers free, standard fitness memberships to these participating members, which are reimbursed by the insurance company. This Program is also an easy way for the City to engage members in our fitness programs and services.
DISCUSSION:
OptumHealth Care Solutions, LLC, under the United Healthcare Group, is requesting the utilization of the City’s fitness facilities for their plan members to participate in the Fitness Passport Program. The City has facilities for such use by clients provided that financial compensation for each member be paid to the City. By participating in this Program, the City will receive up to $32.00 a month per plan member based on the number of eligible member visits. OptumHealth Care Solutions, LLC utilizes a third party vendor, Healthy Contributions, LLC, to reimburse the City for said membership fees. A separate agreement authorizing this vendor to seek reimbursement from OptumHealth Care Solutions, LLC is also on this Agenda for your consideration.
