BACKGROUND:

The State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) offers financial assistance to communities through the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program (LWCF) on a competitive basis to improve recreational facilities.  The City applied for and has been awarded a grant totaling $200,000 for improvements to Lakeside Park.

DISCUSSION:

Funding for the replacement of the baseball lights at Lakeside Park is allocated in the Parks Improvement Program of the Capital Improvement Budget.  This grant will help offset part of the cost associated with this project.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
