AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY:

The Interlocal Agreement for Emergency Medical and Fire Protection Services between the City of Coconut Creek and the City of Margate is due to expire on September 30, 2014. This resolution provides for a one (1) year extension of the existing Interlocal Agreement subject to the following amendments:

* Coconut Creek will pay $7,379,641 for this Agreement - an increase of approximately 3% or $205,246 over last year's amount ($7,174,395) due to increases in costs for providing Emergency Medical and Fire Protection Services to the City of Coconut Creek. This is subject to a credit in a subsequent agreement if employees providing service to Coconut Creek do not receive additional compensation or benefits covering FY 2015;
* Coconut Creek will be reimbursed at a rate of one hundred percent (100%) of all fees collected from within Coconut Creek for those persons receiving Advanced Life Support /Basic Life Support (EMS) Services less billing provider fees.
* The Special Response Team (SRT) will deploy with the SWAT Team as needed;
* Margate shall provide an on-duty Fire/EMS unit for up to five (5) annual Coconut Creek special events;
* Margate Fire Rescue personnel assigned to Coconut Creek Fire Stations shall be granted annual memberships to the Coconut Creek Community Cent...
