A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH HUMAN SERVICES NETWORK, INC. D/B/A MEALS ON WHEELS SOUTH FLORIDA FOR MEAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES RELATED TO THE COVID-19 EMERGENCY TO AID THE CITY’S COMMUNITY.

BACKGROUND:
On April 14, 2023, an agreement between the City of Coconut Creek and Human Services Network, Inc. D/B/A Meals on Wheels South Florida for meal assistance was approved related to the Covid-19 Emergency. Under this agreement, Coconut Creek seniors needing assistance receive two (2) meals per day, five (5) times per week (10 meals total per week), as needed.
DISCUSSION:
Meals on Wheels South Florida has identified a need in our community for meal service seven (7) days a week. This amendment provides the opportunity for individuals considered high risk by the Meals on Wheels nutritionist to receive two (2) meals per day, seven (7) times per week (14 meals total per week).
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
