BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek is committed to enhancing community aesthetics and promoting a stronger, safer, and more sustainable community by providing funding assistance through the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant (NEG) Program.
DISCUSSION:
For Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24), the NEG Program has a budget of $195,000 to fund neighborhood projects. The Golden Raintree I Homeowners Association is requesting $7,500.00 in matching grant funds from the NEG Program. The proposed energy conservation project would upgrade thirty-six (36) existing lighting fixtures to light emitting diode (LED) fixtures. This project will also improve security within the entire Golden Raintree I neighborhood. The total project cost is $17,269.80. The program guidelines provide a maximum reimbursement of $7,500 for townhome/condominium community projects.
The Golden Raintree I Homeowners Association application request is the fourth NEG of FY24. This grant project is a further enhancement of the community and satisfies the standards established by the NEG Program.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
