BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek has a long standing commitment to environmental consciousness and has been a leader in Broward County, including implementing a dark sky ordinance in 2015 to minimize the impacts of light pollution on the environment and our community. The City is proud to designate April 2024 as ‘Everglades Dark Sky Month’ to help bring awareness to light pollution and the impact this has to the natural nocturnal environment within the Greater Everglades and the community.
