BACKGROUND:
The applicant, Victoria Isles Master Homeowners Association, Inc. is requesting $8,037.50 in matching grant funds from the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program. The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program is designed to provide funding assistance for projects that promote a stronger, safer, and more sustainable community. The proposed project seeks to enhance the security of the residential community. Access to the community is from Sawgrass Boulevard.
DISCUSSION:
The City is committed to enhancing community aesthetics and promoting a stronger, safer, and more sustainable community; this grant project furthers this strategic initiative. The applicant is proposing to enhance community safety with the addition of a fence at the neighborhood entrance. Specifically, the project includes: installation of 137 feet of aluminum fence, a gate for pedestrian access, 83 feet of chain-link fence, and 75 Pittosporum and 30 Podocarpus shrubs for a total cost of $16,075.00.
The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program has a $195,000 budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022. To date, $26,125.00 has been awarded through the program. The Victoria Isles Master Association application request would be the third Neighborhood Enhancement Grant of FY 2022. This grant project is a further enhancement of the community and satisfies the standards established by the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program.
