A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE A CONSULTING SERVICES WORK AUTHORIZATION WITH CPZ ARCHITECTS, INC. TO PROVIDE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION SERVICES FOR THE LAKESIDE PARK IMPROVEMENTS.

BACKGROUND:
In 2016, the City of Coconut Creek purchased a five (5) acre vacant property adjacent to Lakeside Park from the School Board with the intention of expanding the park and adding amenities. Subsequently, the City hired a consultant to prepare a citywide Parks Master Plan, which included proposed improvements to Lakeside Park.
DISCUSSION:
Proposed improvements to Lakeside Park include, but are not limited to, the creation of a new multipurpose athletic field with LED sports lighting, an elevated band shell, a restroom facility, sidewalks, additional parking, and landscaping. During the public outreach phase, various alternatives will be discussed prior to finalizing the complete list of amenities.
CPZ Architects, Inc. is a qualified firm on the City’s approved Architecture, Landscape Architectural and Urban Design Services list per RFQ No. 08-24-16-11 as approved by Resolution 2016-295 and CPZ Architects, Inc. has provided a proposal to perform the necessary design and construction administration services in the amount of $472,246.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
