BACKGROUND:

The City of Coconut Creek is the owner of the property generally located at 5460-5480 Johnson Road, Coconut Creek, Florida, and the School Board of Broward County (SBBC) is the owner of the property generally located at 5400 Johnson Road, Coconut Creek, Florida.  The SBBC operates a public elementary school thereon known as Tradewinds Elementary School.  The City has agreed to permit SBBC employees and/or guests, as permitted by the Tradewinds Elementary Principal, to park on the City Property pursuant to the Parking License Agreement (“Agreement”) dated June 13, 2017, which provided for a three-year initial term with up to two one-year extensions. It was extended by the First Amendment to the Parking License Agreement dated June 17, 2020.

DISCUSSION:

The attached Second Amendment to the Parking License Agreement provides for the City Manager, or designee, to execute the amendment to extend the temporary and nonexclusive license to utilize the City’s property until June 17, 2022, but provides for cancellation at any time upon thirty (30) days advanced notice.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
