BACKGROUND:
This item was approved on First Reading at the November 12, 2020, City Commission Meeting.
The City’s Code of Ordinances by and through Section 1-15, “Official city seal and official city logo,” authorizes the city commission to approve the manufacture, use, display, or other employment of any facsimile or reproduction of the city seal.
DISCUSSION:
The City Commission wishes to clarify that pursuant to Section 165.043, Fla. Stat., only the City Commission can give approval to others to manufacture, use, display, or other employment of any facsimile or reproduction of the official city seal, but the City Manager may give approval as it relates to the manufacture, use, display, or other employment of any facsimile or reproduction of the official city logo, the official city slogan, and any other city trademarked item.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this ordinance.
