BACKGROUND:

On March 14, 2019, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 2019-004, which established an Education Advisory Board to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Commission in matters relating to educational issues that impact the quality of education for the residents.

In accordance with Section 2-262 of the Code of Ordinances, each Commissioner shall nominate one person to fill a position of membership on the Education Advisory Board.  This appointment shall be for a term ending with the next appointment in 2021.  The Mayor will nominate one person to fill the alternate position. 

DISCUSSION:

Currently serving on this Board are members:  Colleen LaPlant, Chair; Janice Jacobs, Vice Chair; Robert Hurley; Brian Kenney; Patricia Trick; and Susan Sargis, Alternate.
