BACKGROUND:

On July 18, 2019, the City issued Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 08-14-19-11 to contract with a responsible company to purchase a portable stage for special events as needed.

DISCUSSION:

The City issued 251 invitation letters to prospective vendors, and two (2) firms submitted a responsive proposal.

A selection committee consisting of John Yancey, Public Works Senior Lead Worker; Phil Randazzo, Parks and Recreation Superintendent; and Leonardo Moleiro, Special Events Planner reviewed the proposals. The committee evaluated and ranked the proposals, selecting Century Industries, LLC as the number one ranked firm according to the criteria listed in the RFP document.  Purchasing conducted background and reference checks, and no issues arose.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
