BACKGROUND:
The Florida Mutual Aid Act, contained in Part 1, Chapter 23, of the Florida Statutes, permits law enforcement agencies to provide voluntary cooperation and assistance of a routine law enforcement nature across jurisdictional boundaries by entering into a mutual aid agreement.
DISCUSSION:
The South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Operational Task Force Memorandum of Understanding (“ICAC MOU”) provides for law enforcement agencies across Broward County to make more efficient use of their powers and resources by working together on one task force to combat crimes committed against children and the criminal exploitation of children that is committed and/or facilitated by or through the use of computers. The ICAC MOU shall remain effective unless terminated by either party.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
