A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FROM THE BROWARD METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (MPO) 2018 COMPLETE STREETS AND LOCALIZED INITIATIVES PROGRAM (CSLIP) FOR THE MULTI-USE PATH PROJECT ALONG JOHNSON ROAD. (ADDENDUM)

body

BACKGROUND:

The City has submitted an application for funding from the Broward MPO 2018 Complete Streets and Localized Initiatives Program (CSLIP) for the multi-use path along Johnson Road.  The project is consistent with the City of Coconut Creek Complete Streets Master Plan presented in 2015.  Preliminary cost estimates for this project total approximately $859,000.00, including design, environmental analysis, and construction inspections.  Funds for design are projected to be available in approximately three (3) years with construction following.

DISCUSSION:

The Broward MPO has requested that the City adopt a resolution expressing support for the proposed project for which the City is requesting funding.  This resolution supports the application for funding from the MPO 2018 CSLIP for the multi-use path along Johnson Road. The project is more particularly described in Exhibit “A” attached.  The proposed project will continue the City’s ongoing efforts for complete streets improvements within the City.
