BACKGROUND:

On November 6, 2018, the City issued Request for Proposal (“RFP”) No. 12-05-18-10 to contract with two qualified firms to provide routine and emergency electrical services on an as needed basis.  The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, parts, service, and supervision necessary to conduct services.

DISCUSSION:

Solicitations were electronically sent through the eBid system to sixty-seven (67) prospective vendors, and three (3) responsive proposals were received from Imperial Electrical, Inc., P.L.A. Electric, Inc., and Universal Electric of Florida, Inc.  The submittals were evaluated based on the criteria listed in the RFP by a selection committee consisting of Jim Berkman, Public Works Director; John Tetteris, Public Works Supervisor; and Maureen Delaunay, Executive Assistant.  After evaluating the submittals, the selection committee ranked P.L.A. Electric, Inc. as number one and Imperial Electrical, Inc. as number two.  The initial contract period is three (3) years with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
