BACKGROUND:

This item was approved on First Reading at the December 13, 2018, City Commission Meeting.

Kristin Jacobs, member of the Florida House of Representatives (“Jacobs”), currently has an ongoing lease agreement with the City that allows Jacobs to lease office space within the Coconut Creek Government Center. The lease agreement, dated November 13, 2014 (“Agreement”), was for a period of two (2) years, and expired October 2016, but provided for two (2) additional two (2) year terms. Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement, dated January 10, 2017 (“Amendment No. 1”), was for an extension of two (2) years, and expired on October 31, 2018.  The Agreement provides for payment of rent at a rate of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars and 00/100 ($250.00) per month.

DISCUSSION:

Amendment No. 2 will extend the lease for a two (2) year term through October 31, 2020.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this ordinance.
