A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH NORTH BROWARD PREPARATORY SCHOOLS, LLC AND BMOC-MIA (FL), LLC TO PROVIDE FOR PHASING OF EXOTIC VEGETATION REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF ENHANCED SUPPLEMENTAL LANDSCAPING.

body

BACKGROUND:

North Broward Preparatory School has obtained specific permits for landscape and irrigation and for clearing and grubbing associated with the construction of the residential village. The School began construction under the permits, including removing exotic vegetation and planting new vegetation in its place. The abutting property owner adjacent to the northeast corner of the School site expressed concern and is currently in litigation related to the construction.

DISCUSSION:

The attached Agreement provides for the phased removal of the vegetation to limit disruption to the neighbors while allowing the permits to be closed. The School will be responsible for the removal and installation of all vegetation at the School site in accordance with the supplemental landscape plan.  The work is to be done in five (5) phases and completed by December 31, 2023.  Please note that the additional vegetation described in the Agreement is above and beyond the landscaping required to comply with the approved site plan. The City has provided notice of this meeting and prospective phasing plan to the neighboring property owners.
