title

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING SERVICE, INC. TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF SPORTS FIELD LIGHTING AT LAKESIDE PARK PURSUANT TO BID NO. 01-24-18-11.

body

BACKGROUND:

The sports field lighting at Lakeside Park is in need of upgrading due to its age and ability to adequately cover the City’s sports fields with proper lighting.  To that end, the City Commission approved this project in the Fiscal Year 2018 Parks Improvement Program, and the City issued Bid No. 01-24-18-11 to provide for the installation of the sports field lighting at Lakeside Park on December 10, 2017.

DISCUSSION:

Two (2) submittals were received in response to the aforementioned Bid of which only one (1) submittal, Electrical Contracting Service, Inc., was determined to be responsive. Based on references and successful performance on a prior City project of similar scope and cost, staff is recommending that Electrical Contracting Service, Inc. be awarded the contract. The City has received a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant of 50% up to $200,000 from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to offset some of the expenses of this project.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
