A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF COCONUT CREEK’S 2018 FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE AGENDA.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek creates a Federal Legislative Agenda each year to be submitted to the City’s federal lobbying consultants.
DISCUSSION:
Coconut Creek’s 2018 Federal Legislative Agenda was created with input from staff and the City’s federal lobbyist, Van Scoyoc Associates. It lists the City’s objectives for legislative action at the federal level on issues that may affect the City of Coconut Creek, its residents, and its businesses, over the next year.
A public workshop will be held at 6:00 p.m. on January 25, 2018, where the City’s federal lobbyists from Van Scoyoc Associates will present and discuss the City’s proposed 2018 Federal Legislative Agenda with the Commission. City Commissioners and staff have been provided this document prior to the workshop.
Upon approval by the City Commission at the January 25, 2018, Commission Meeting, the City of Coconut Creek’s 2018 Federal Legislative Agenda will be submitted by Van Scoyoc Associates to the City’s federal legislative delegation and will be utilized by Van Scoyoc Associates to represent the City at the federal level over the next year.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
