A PRESENTATION FOR THE “DO THE RIGHT THING” PROGRAM.

body

BACKGROUND:

In an effort to facilitate greater interaction among residents and enhance greater community policing issues, the Police Department has established the “Do the Right Thing” Program in Coconut Creek.  The “Do the Right Thing” Program is a not-for-profit nationally-recognized program established in 1990 to recognize youth who exhibit exemplary behavior and strive to be good citizens.

Program grants were approved in the FY17 and FY18 Budgets in the amounts of $3,400 and $13,720, respectively. Coconut Creek’s program will recognize five Coconut Creek student residents each month. Students will be recognized for academics, athletics, community service, or any other effort where a child is trying to “do the right thing.” Each recipient will receive a medal, gift card, t-shirt, and a certificate.
