body

BACKGROUND:

The City’s existing contract for sports officiating services with SuperSports of Broward County, Inc., pursuant to Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 08-20-12-10, is set to expire on September 30, 2017.  On April 9, 2017, the City issued RFP No. 05-03-17-11 to contract with a qualified and professional company to provide the City of Coconut Creek with qualified sports officials for the Parks and Recreation Department’s adult and youth athletic leagues.

DISCUSSION:

Solicitations were electronically sent to 24 prospective vendors, and two responsive proposals were received.  A selection committee consisting of Lenore Thomas, Parks and Recreation Superintendent; Enrique Castro, Parks and Recreation Supervisor; and Ryan Reed, Parks and Recreation Supervisor evaluated and ranked the responses in accordance with the following criteria:  (1) Operational Plan for the City; (2) Qualifications and Experience; (3) Resources and Availability; (4) Past Performance; and (5) Price.  SuperSports of Broward County, Inc. was ranked number one. Differences from the initial contract to the proposed contract is the addition of youth soccer referees and an overall price increase for each sport. The initial contract period is for two (2) years with the option to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year periods.
