BACKGROUND:
This item was approved on First Reading at the May 25, 2017, City Commission Meeting.
Republic Services of Florida, Limited Partnership, doing business as All Service Refuse (hereinafter referred to as "Contractor"), has contracted with the City to provide non-hazardous solid waste collection, transportation, and disposal services since 2011 pursuant to RFP 05-11-11-11. The Agreement between the City and the Contractor, dated September 22, 2011 ("Agreement"), provided for an initial term of four (4) years with an option to extend the Agreement twice for two (2) year terms each. The City and the Contractor desire to exercise the parties' right to extend the Agreement for its second and final time via the attached Third Amendment to the Agreement under the current terms and conditions.
DISCUSSION:
The parties intend that all terms and conditions as stated in the Agreement, the First Amendment dated January 1, 2016, and the Second Amendment dated July 28, 2016, shall remain in full force and effect, subject only to the minor amendments contained in the attached Third Amendment to the Agreement, provided herein. The Third Amendment is needed in order to specify the relevant dates to effectuate the new term. If approved, the extension will provide for such services beginning October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2019.

Staff recommends approval of this Ordinance.
