A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING MAY 8-12, 2017, AS “NATIONAL WOMEN’S LUNG HEALTH WEEK.”

BACKGROUND:
LUNG FORCE, a national movement led by the American Lung Association, unites women and their loved ones to stand together against lung cancer and for lung health. Their mission is to increase lung cancer awareness, promote research to beat the disease, advocate for funding, and fight for the lives of those affected by lung cancer.
This year, National Women’s Lung Health Week takes place May 8-12 to raise lung cancer awareness. As a part of this week, we encourage everyone to wear turquoise, which, together with the LUNG FORCE “whoosh of breath” logo, symbolizes the “force” that it will take to change the statistics about lung health.
