A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE FLORIDA ASSOCIATION OF CITY CLERKS FOR ITS 45TH ANNIVERSARY.
body
BACKGROUND:
2017 marks the 45th anniversary of the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC), which first began in Broward County in 1972.
The FACC was established to promote and develop the educational and professional status of Florida city clerks with the primary objective to educate the city clerks in the State of Florida. FACC works in conjunction with the International Institute of Municipal Clerks to provide Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) certification for city clerks. The FACC strives to help increase the efficiency of city clerk functions, increase cooperation and assistance with city administrators, gather and disseminate information to improve procedures, and improve the efficiency of the administration of municipal government. The FACC also provides educational opportunities for clerks through its annual summer conference and fall academy, webinars, district mini-academies, and Athenian Dialogues.
Currently, the FACC has more than 575 members in seven districts throughout the State, including our own City Clerk and Deputy City Clerk. Our City Clerk has been a member of FACC since 2005 and has earned her MMC designation. Our Deputy City Clerk joined the FACC in 2016 and has completed her first year of the three-year requirement of attending the FACC Academy to earn her CMC designation.
