A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE ATTACHED AGREEMENT WITH THE BROWARD COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISER’S OFFICE PROVIDING FOR COLLECTING AND MAINTAINING A NON-AD VALOREM TAX ROLL FOR THE NUISANCE ABATEMENT ASSESSMENT.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek currently contracts with the Broward County Property Appraiser’s Office to provide services for collecting and maintaining a non-ad valorem tax roll for the City’s nuisance abatement assessment. The current agreement expires in January 2017.
DISCUSSION:
The term of the new agreement for collecting and maintaining a non-ad valorem tax roll for the nuisance abatement assessment will be effective for tax year 2017 and beyond until terminated by either party at the same an annual rate of $2.00 per parcel for assessed properties or $400 per year, whichever is greater. In addition, during the first year the assessment is levied, an additional one-time fee of $1,000.00 will be charged for programming changes.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
