BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the Invitation for Bid is to contract with a qualified, experienced licensed general contractor to renovate the Recreation Complex locker rooms. The locker rooms were constructed over twenty years ago and are in need of renovations. The project consists of replacing all fixtures and finishes, reconfiguring the space to meet current ADA standards, providing new lockers, and creating two new rooms to meet the storage needs of the Parks & Recreation Department.
DISCUSSION:
On August 7, 2016, the City issued one hundred thirty-five (135) electronic invitations. Three (3) responsive submittals were received from Caliste Construction, LLC ($280,500.00), B&O Constructors, Inc. ($309,916.00) and Roof Painting by Hartzell ($311,875.00). Staff recommends awarding the contract to the low, responsive bidder, Caliste Construction, LLC. The project completion time is anticipated to be 120 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution. A copy of the Bid package is located in the Commission office for review.
