BACKGROUND:
The Red Ribbon Campaign was established by Congress in 1988 to encourage a drug-free lifestyle, involvement in drug prevention and reduction efforts, and encourages Americans to wear a red ribbon to show their support for this initiative. The Young Marines of the Marine Corps League actively participate in the Red Ribbon Week campaign to develop good citizenship and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle for the youth in our communities.
