A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF CORAL SPRINGS FOR POLICE MOTORCYCLE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES.

BACKGROUND:
The City has an existing contract with First Vehicle Services (FVS) for vehicle maintenance, including the police Harley Davidson motorcycles. The FVS technician who held the Harley Davidson certification is no longer with the company. FVS is currently sending the motorcycles out to dealers for repair and maintenance. This arrangement is acceptable; however, an alternative, in the event that certain services are unavailable or cannot be completed in a timely manner, is desired.
DISCUSSION:
Entering into this Agreement will provide the City with a dependable and efficient back up to our current contractor, FVS, for police motorcycle maintenance and repair. The City of Coral Springs has provided police motorcycle repair and maintenance services to the City in the past and is agreeable to providing them again on an as needed basis with their Harley Davidson certified technicians.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
