A MOTION TO RENEW THE SEMINOLE CASINO EXTENDED HOURS ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE LICENSE FOR A ONE YEAR PERIOD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 3-2 (C), CODE OF ORDINANCES.

BACKGROUND:
On April 12, 2007, the City Commission approved an Extended Hours Alcoholic Beverage License Application for the Seminole Casino, providing for extended hours from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. of the following day, seven days a week. In accordance with Section 3-2 (c), Code of Ordinances, which establishes the licensing requirements for such activity, extended hours licenses shall expire October 1st of each year and shall be renewed for one (1) year periods.
DISCUSSION:
A request for renewal, along with the $1,000.00 permit fee, has been submitted to the City (see attached) by the applicant for consideration. The current license includes the Nectar Lounge, Fresh Harvest, Sorrisi, and NYY Steak restaurants within the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek property. The City Commission has the authority to approve renewals. For reference, there have been no significant police and/or code compliance issues since the initial license was granted in April, 2007.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Seminole Casino Extended Hours Alcoholic Beverage License.
