BACKGROUND:
On January 10, 2013, the City Commission awarded the contract for coach bus transportation services to Casino Limo Corp. d/b/a Corporate Coaches, Inc. The intent of the service contract was to provide coach bus transportation services for the City’s Parks and Recreation Department special events and summer day camp program. The contract term was for two (2) years with the option to renew for three (3) one (1) year periods. The City is currently in the second renewal period, which will expire March 2, 2017.
DISCUSSION:
On June 24, 2016, Corporate Coaches, Inc. sold its pending charter passenger contracts to Academy Bus, LLC. To provide continued coach bus transportation services, the City needs to enter into a Consent to Assignment and Assumption Agreement with Academy Bus, LLC, which is consistent with the General Terms and Conditions of RFP No. 11-28-12-10, Section 42 “Assignment.” Based on reference checks conducted by Purchasing, staff believes that Academy Bus, LLC can satisfactorily perform the required services.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Consent to Assignment and Assumption Agreement.

NOTES: Account 0183-3412 - Contract Service Other. Services are provided on an as needed basis. Usage is dependent on revenue from summer camp enrollment (T22915) and anticipated attendance for special events (T22011) such as the Butterfly Festival and Senior and Youth Field Trips.
