A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE CITY AND GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTORS.

BACKGROUND:
The City offers group exercise classes to its residents as part of their fitness membership. Some of these classes have been taught by instructors from a contract awarded through the competitive solicitation process. The existing agreement is due to expire September 30, 2016.
DISCUSSION:
The use of group exercise instructors to teach group classes at the City’s Fitness Centers will provide for a reduction in cost per class, an increase in services offered, and the ability to maintain more control over class instructors.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the template employment agreement between the City and group exercise instructors.
