BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to contract with a qualified janitorial firm to provide Janitorial Services to the City. The work consists of furnishing all labor, supplies, equipment, tools, service and supervision necessary to perform and maintain the work conducive with a neat, clean, and orderly condition. Services will be performed Monday through Sunday and will include all City facilities including parks. The current Janitorial Agreement has no renewals left.
DISCUSSION:
On August 9, 2015, the City issued a competitive solicitation for Janitorial Services. Solicitations were electronically sent to forty-five (45) prospective vendors. Two (2) responsive proposals were received. A Selection Committee consisting of Lou Italico, Public Works Supervisor; Mike Heimbach, Public Works Operations Manager; and John Tetteris, Public Works Lead Worker evaluated and ranked the responses in accordance with the following criteria: (1) Operational Plan for the City, (2) Qualifications and Experience, (3) Resources and Availability, (4) Past Performance, and (5) Price.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that United States Service Industries, Inc., (USSI) be approved to provide the Janitorial Services for all City Facilities, including parks.
