BACKGROUND:
Sergeant Kirk Carlson has proudly served the Coconut Creek Police Department for the last 23 of his 34 years in law enforcement. Prior to making Florida his home, he was a Police Officer in Colorado.
During his tenure in the City of Coconut Creek, he has held the positions of Public Safety Officer, Detective, K-9 Officer, Sergeant, and K-9 Supervisor. In 2000, Sergeant Carlson was responsible for implementing the first K-9 Unit in the Coconut Creek Police Department. After being promoted to Sergeant in 2004, he continued working with, mentoring, and supervising new K-9 Officers while performing his new duties. His talents, expertise, and dedication are unparalleled and will be missed.
