A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2020-004 AND THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF CORAL SPRINGS DATED JANUARY 23, 2020; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE ATTACHED INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT IN ITS PLACE PROVIDING FOR THE DELIVERY OF 911 DISPATCH COMMUNICATION SERVICES.

body

BACKGROUND:

The City of Coconut Creek approved Resolution No. 2020-004 on January 23, 2020, to provide for an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with the City of Coral Springs for 911 dispatch services. The ILA included Exhibit “A,” Timeline, and Exhibit “B,” Compensation Schedule, with participation from four cities.

DISCUSSION:

The City of Coral Springs has updated the ILA to provide for a revised Timeline, Exhibit “A,” and Compensation Schedule, Exhibit “B,” to include three cities instead of the original four cities. This will allow the City of Coconut Creek and the City of Coral Springs to proceed with the implementation of the ILA, while providing additional time for future municipality inclusion. Both the City of Coral Springs and the City of Coconut Creek desire to enter into the ILA in a timely manner.

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
