BACKGROUND:

 

In accordance with Section 21-2.1 of the Code of Ordinances, the Commission, as a whole, appoints two regular members and one alternate member to the Civil Service Board for a two-year term.  Appointments to the Civil Service Board were last made on April 27, 2017, for a term ending April 2019. 

DISCUSSION:

Recently, the alternate member of the Civil Service Board submitted a letter of resignation, resulting in an unexpired term vacancy that needs to be filled with an appointment made by the City Commission. The appointee must be a resident and must not be employed by the City.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
