BACKGROUND:

The City applied for and was awarded grant funding from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) program in the amount of $7,080.00 through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

DISCUSSION:

Awarded grant funding will be used to purchase simulator-training equipment that will assist Coconut Creek police officers in understanding how to deploy lethal and less-lethal weapons on a moving target and aim for the appropriate target zones.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
