BACKGROUND:
The proposed agreement is a five-year contract between Broward County and the City for services performed by the Broward County Environmental Licensing and Building Permitting Division of the Environmental Protection and Growth Management Department, in connection with building inspections and building plan review services. Broward County has been providing the City with these services since September 2, 1982.
DISCUSSION:
A maximum 5% annual escalation is provided for in the Agreement; however, the City reserves the right to negotiate or terminate. The Agreement also provides for a 90-day termination by either party. The City uses Broward County and Cap (CAP) Government Services for building inspections and building plan review services. The rates for CAP are slightly lower; and therefore, we use these services as a secondary back-up.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Agreement.
