A MOTION TO CONSIDER ESTABLISHING A 3:30 P.M. START TIME FOR THE AUGUST 13, 2026, CITY COMMISSION MEETING.

BACKGROUND:
Regular meetings of the City Commission have a start time of 7 p.m per Section 2-21 of the City’s Code of Ordinances; however, that Section does not speak to changing the time of the meetings. Section 309 a. of the City’s Charter provides that the Commission may cancel any meetings upon a vote taken at a prior regularly scheduled meeting. At the April 23, 2026, City Commission Meeting, there was consensus to change the start time of the August 13, 2026, Regular Commission Meeting to follow the Budget Workshop earlier in the day. While this will not cancel the August 13, 2026 Regular Commission Meeting, it will modify the time of that meeting; therefore, this Motion ensures that there is a record of the vote taken to change the meeting time.
