BACKGROUND:
The Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials, Inc. (FAPPO) has recognized the City of Coconut Creek with the Award for Excellence in Public Procurement for 2026. This honor recognizes Florida entities that meet or exceed benchmarks in the field of public procurement.
This annual award program consists of standardized criteria that are updated each year to reflect current industry benchmarks and emerging best practices. The program evaluates agencies in areas such as source selection, auditing, continual process improvement, automation, electronic commerce, innovation, productivity, and leadership within the procurement function. Participation in this program encourages continuous improvement and ensures that the City’s procurement operations align with recognized professional standards and operational efficiencies.
The City of Coconut Creek was one (1) of only twenty-five (25) entities to be recognized with this prestigious award for 2026.
The City has been recognized with this award multiple times, reflecting the Procurement Division’s sustained commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices in public procurement
FAPPO’s membership consists of approximately 1,000 procurement professionals, representing over 300 public agencies throughout the State of Florida, including municipalities, counties, state agencies, special districts, universities, school boards, and sheriff’s offices. The organization’s purpose is to promote excellence in public procurement and support the professional development of its members through education, certification, and networking opportunities.
