BACKGROUND:

 

On August 27, 2013, the City executed an agreement with Broward County, providing for the installation and maintenance of nine (9) bus shelters within the jurisdictional limits of the City.

 

DISCUSSION:

 

This amendment provides for a cooperative effort between Broward County and the City to improve local transportation services within the City through the installation of twenty (20) new ADA compliant bus shelters at various locations throughout the City as noted in Exhibit “A” of the attached First Amendment to the agreement. Broward County agrees to purchase and install the shelters, with the City agreeing to maintain them after installation.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.

REVENUES:                     $ 0

EXPENDITURES:                     $ 10,000.00 annually

BUDGETED?                          No

NOTES: Staff estimates maintenance and repair costs to be approximately $10,000 annually, however, does not anticipate any budget expenditures in the current fiscal year. The additional funding will be addressed in the Fiscal Year 2021 budget cycle.
