BACKGROUND:
The SRO Program is a great benefit to school administration, students, and the community as a whole. North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS) entered into an SRO agreement with the City in 2022, and all renewal options under the original agreement have been exercised. NBPS has requested to continue participation in the SRO Program with the services of a Coconut Creek School Resource Officer (SRO).
DISCUSSION:
The attached SRO agreement provides for one (1) SRO and NBPS for a twelve (12) month period, beginning September 30, 2026, and ending September 29, 2027. The City will receive $19,933.39 per month for one (1) SRO for twelve (12) months during the term of the agreement, for a total of $239,200. The agreement provides for up to three (3) one (1) year extensions.

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
