BACKGROUND:
On September 13, 2020, the City issued Bid No. 10-13-20-02 to contract with a qualified general contractor to construct a new restroom building at the Sabal Pines Park baseball fields. The new 1,169 square foot building will contain men's and women's restrooms and a storage room for materials and equipment to maintain the adjacent baseball fields.
DISCUSSION:
The City issued four hundred fifty nine (459) electronic invitations to bid for the Sabal Pines Park Restroom project. Thirteen (13) responsive submittals were received from the following contractors: 1) Green Engineering & Construction, Inc. ($369,420.90); 2) IBIS Building Corporation ($472,829.52); 3) Maceda Contractors, LLC ($498,000.00); 4) RETCOM Construction, LLC ($499,000.00); 5) HG Construction Development & Investment, Inc. ($545,690.50); 6) Gantt Builders, LLC ($553,208.00); 7) GSD Contracting ($569,800.00); 8) Florida Palm Construction ($611,129.00); 9) Walker Design & Construction ($650,189.06); 10) Caliste Construction, LLC ($671,000.00); 11) Cosugas, LLC ($682,000.00); 12) Meraki Design & Construction, LLC ($687,282.48); and 13) Waypoint Contracting, Inc. ($726,000.00).
After confirmation of references and past performance, staff recommends awarding the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, Green Engineering & Construction, for a total amount not to exceed $406,362.99, which is inclusive of a ten percent (10%) contingency. The agreement provides for final project completion two hundred ten (210) calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
